I am back from the Scrapbooking capitol of the world!

I have just returned from Utah- and although it really is the scrap booking capitol of the world I did not get to do any shopping at all. I was in Provo to take my son to the Missionary Training Center for our Church- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). He will be serving for the next two years in the Ventura California Mission and I am sooooooo proud of him.
I love this picture of Austin....now known as Elder Simmons. He is beaming! This is right after he checked into the MTC- and you can see how truly joyful he is, the smile says it all. I will miss him a lot! I got home and closed his bedroom door...I am sure that I will open it soon- but right now my heart is a little raw.
In our church the boys go on 2 year missions- they can be called to anywhere in the world. They go for 2 years and during that time I will only get to talk to him 2 times a year- he will be completely immersed in serving the Lord. I cannot even express the joy and the pride that I have in this amazing young man. I am excited to see the changes that I will see in him in the next 2 years and the man that will come home to me.
So now that I have accomplished everything that it took to get him off I am ready to get going again! It is getting cold which means that scrapbook season is in full force!!!
Have a great week-end
Happy Halloween!!!

Oh...I say I like Autumn!

Yes...there is one thing that I really enjoy about living in Ohio and that is Autumn! It has been beautiful...with a hint of cold in the air.

Well, I have been very bad a blogging...but I have a really good reason. My Son Austin is getting ready to leave for two years on his mission for our church. (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, our nickname is Mormons) He will be gone for 2 years and he will be teaching the gospel and serving the Lord. You have probably seen Mormon Missionaries, they are the young men wearing white shirts and dark slacks that are normally riding bikes.

He is going to serve in the Ventura, California Mission. I am very excited for him and I have been busy getting him ready. I am leaving on Saturday to take him to Utah to the Missionary Training Center. It seems like I have been preparing for this his whole life and yet it hit me today as he gave a talk in church today, I could not quit crying. I am going to miss him sooo much- in the next two years I will only get to talk to him two times a year on Mothers day and Christmas. He will be able to email us once a week...but it will be hard.

I am very proud of him- he is an amazing person.

So that is what has been keeping me busy for the month of October. I actually have several files that I completed I just haven't had time to test cut them.

It seems that time flys by-

Enjoy your Sunday!

Happy Monday!!!

Whitney is Center of Picture

What a crazy Week-end! Whitney had Homecoming so we went to the game Friday night so that we could watcher her cheer- then it was the dance Saturday night...it was fun and stressful helping her get ready. It is much different than when I was in HS. I would have never dreamed of going to a dance without a date- but that was in the 1900's...and in the year 2008 having a date is no concern.
So that night as Whitney was dancing the night away we had a fund raiser for the Mason Youth Football. Sunday was our last official game of the season and we won 20-0 which was nice because we had no "scouting" film of our opponent (yes you read right-scouting film for the 5th grade game...don't get me started) So the coaches (my husband) was very nervous because a loss would make us 4th place vs. 1st place...quite a difference!
So here we are on Monday and it was a beautiful fall day...I guess that is one thing that I like about living in Ohio is that there are seasons and Fall is my favorite season. It reminds me of growing up in Utah, walking to school and all of the fun things that go with all and growing up.
I actually have some cutter files...I just need to test cut and I will have them up later tonite or tomorrow!
Happy Monday
